Trail Cycle Leader Training
What a Laugh Went to Glenmore Lodge near Aviemore to do the Trail Cycle Leader training. Getting there on Sunday evening after work I realised quickly that it is going to be a slightly different TCL training. It was snowing all night and by the morning the snow was about ankle deep. I'm sure snow isn't mentioned in the syllabus. But hey Carl is a pro and worked around that with us. After all snow under the tires is about as slippery as mud, just a bit cleaner.
Ice Climbing in the Northern Corries
Ice Climbing in the Northern Corries The weather has been pretty good all weekend so it was time to sharpen the ice tools again. We drove up to the Cairngorm car park and stomped up the path into Coire an t-Sneachda. After having a look at the climbs we decided to just scramble up Aladdin's Couloir. Since it is just a grade one we didn't bother about a rope and zipped up quickly to the top.
Climbing on Sgorr Ruadh
Mushy snow in Central Gully Went out to do some ice climbing on Sgorr Ruadh. The plan was to climb up Post Box Gully (II ***) which looked like a nice line when we got there.
Hillwalking in Torridon ... again
Torridon hills are not to miss After already spending a short day in Torridon to have a look at the northern corries of Liathach on Thursday I have decided to take folk out in the same area.
Sea Kayaking to Plockton
Kyle of Lochalsh to Plockton Wicket stuff paddling in the winter with a force 4 looming around to corner all the time. Went down to Kyle of Lochalsh with my mate Simon. I ran the shuttle with my road bicycle which decided to part from its front deraileur after the first kilometre.
