Uist Rumble Sea Kayaking

Prepare yourself to be amazed. Uist is one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland to be discovered by sea kayak. It is an adventure on its own just to get there let alone to deal with the temperamental weather and the exposure to the Atlantic Ocean. However, it is worth the journey time fold and there is much to explore. Uist has some of the whitest beaches in the UK and the size of them is yet to be matched. Last not least, Uist is a midge free zone till about August, So this trip will be in July that there is one less thing to be worried about. Due to the remoteness we will have a support driver on this trip.
Day 1
Book into the B&B in Inverness enjoy the beautiful city. This is an ideal opportunity to meet other trip members. We will also meet you at the B&B, go through the required kit and start packing so that we can have an early start in the morning with as little faffing.
Day 2
Drive to Uist in Skye to board the ferry. Arriving in Lochmaddy we make our way to the launch area. This depends on weather conditions. Load the kayaks and start paddling. By the end of a short paddle we should be at a small island to set up camp. Cook dinner and after enjoying the Scottish wilderness have a kip.
Day 3-6
These days are according to weather conditions. The main achievement is to circumnavigate North Uist. If that can’t be achieved due to weather conditions the plan would have to be changed and a trip along the east or west side of North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist can be just as enjoyable.
Day 7
Make that a shorter day to wind down and get back to Lochmaddy in time to catch the second ferry. After driving back to Inverness from Uist in Skye book into the B&B and have dinner.
