We are starting at Sconser to circumnavigate Raasay and maybe Rona. There are some smaller islands in the area which might be visited during the trip too. This is a combination of some of the best classic sea kayaking trips in the Scottish Isles and will leave a lasting memory. Some of the smaller islands around Raasay are a real gem. This coastline is generally more sheltered than the west coast of Skye. Even when strong westerly winds are forecast you can avoid most of it by hiding at the east side of Raasay, which has some smaller sea caves and waterfalls to explore.
Optional We can also organise additional days at a Bed and Breakfast. We won't charge any commission for bookings.
Day 1 Meet up in the morning in Skye and paddle from Sconser to accross to Raasay and camp in the evening on the island.
Day 2 After a breakfast and packing gear again. Continue with the circumnavigation of Raasay and spend another night either camping on Raasay or another island in the area.
Day 3 Finish kayaking around Raasay and paddle back to Sconser.
Experience
Must be a fairly Experienced paddler. We recommend at least 7 full days sea kayaking previously. Knowing about rescues and packing sea kayaks is an advantage but not essential.
Fitness Level
You should be fairly fit. After all you will spend several hours sea kayaking every day. Doing one fitness activity once a week is usually sufficient.

This is as good as it gets, as far as sea kayaking around the Skye area goes. Raasay has again a lot of wildlife to offer. There is a golden eagle at the south end of the island which has been spotted on most of our Raasay trips. There are only a few people living at the smaller islands to the south of Raasay are very remote and wild. You can say the same about the northern end of Raasay and Rona. You also have some waterfalls going straight into the sea and a few caves on the east side of the island of Raasay.
