Sea Kayaking to Plockton
Kyle of Lochalsh to Plockton
Wicket stuff paddling in the winter with a force 4 looming around to corner all the time. Went down to Kyle of Lochalsh with my mate Simon. I ran the shuttle with my road bicycle which decided to part from its front deraileur after the first kilometre.

After doing a bit of a bodge job I was off again and met up with Simon to rock and roll in the water. Passing the Skye bridge it was quite nice to get pushed along by the tide. Isn't it nice to plan it right. The pay-off was most certainly all those seals popping up their heads and the sun half way along. Simon thought there wasn't enough challenge in these waters so he just paddled over a few wee reefs to get some surfs to toss his sea kayak about.
Just when we thought of having a wee break we noticed that big black cloud following us. Hmmm, maybe best to just go for it and
finish the paddle, we though. As soon as the big bad black cloud was over our heads it started raining (what a surprise!!), the wind picked up and my hands got cold. Now as long as the wind was behind us it was quite cool to go with it but to get into Plockton we had to paddle against a force 5. It was only a few hundred metres. Kayaks on the roof and picked up the push bike in kyle and that was us. Best paddle of the year..... so far ;-)
