Hillwalking in Torridon ... again

Torridon hills are not to miss
After already spending a short day in Torridon to have a look at the northern corries of Liathach on Thursday I have decided to take folk out in the same area.
Starting just a wee bit late we went up the north side of Sgurr na Bana Mhoraire which is a nice scramble. Just at about 400 metres it started snowing. What a blessing. My thoughts are drifting off into using my ice tools on some fresh ice this week.
Anyway, that nice and rough Torridonian sandstone is still grippy even with a little snow cover on it. So, the route goes up nicely to the summit on fairly steep ground, where I had to help the other walkers every now and again to make sure everything is okay. Oh and how was it in the Scottish Highlands again? You get all fours seasons in one day. That was almost true today with snow, sun, wind and calm. Just wasn't warm enough to have summer though.

Around 2pm we arrived on the summit and went straight down the south side and then towards Loch Dambh. Since I don't really like walking on big tracks we contoured around the hill side and went back down the north on a less steep angle. Just as it happens at this time of the year we went into a few deer and stirred a ptarmigan at one point.
