BCU 3 Star Sea Kayaking Training/Assessment
At Highland Ascent we offer also BCU 3 star training and assessments in sea kayaking. Please go to the British Canoe Union website to find out more about the syllabus and requirements.
The first day training will comprise in a flat water area in the sea or a sea loch. There you will learn manoeuvre skills, rescues, forward paddling and other sea kayaking skills. The second day will be there to put these skills into practice as part of a small journey. However, if we feel that you are ready for an assessment we will run through that.
The way it works. It will be either a
- 2 day 3 star sea kayaking training or
- 1 day 3 star sea kayaking training and 1 day 3 star sea kayaking assessment
It all depends on the first day.
We recommend to bring your own kit for the 3 star especially for the training. However, if you would rather like to hire a kayak or any kit we can arrange this too.
The price includes only the assessment and registration fee. Please contact us if you require any equipment. We can offer sea kayaks including paddle, spray deck and buoyancy aid for £20-£35 per day.
